Deirdre O’Kane is the queen of Irish comedy.
And as such she has pretty high standards. Deservedly so.
In the first episode of her new podcast with Emma Doran, Emma explained how Deirdre shocked her when the pair first travelled together.
Chatting to Deirdre about their airport experience Emma said: “You got a smoothie and I go ‘Jesus you got that very fast’, and you were like ‘Oh the queue was too much love, I didn’t bother paying for it.'”

Through the laughs, Deirdre explained herself by saying that there’s the odd coffee shop in the airport and all over the world the queue is miles long – and I think we can all agree with her.
“There’s the coffee I’m just going to pick it up and drink it,” she said.
She continued: “I need to tell the people I’m not a thief, I don’t rob the coffee very often, but when I see a set-up that’s stupid, I’m just like nah, I’m not paying because you’re thick.”
Deirdre speaks for us all when it comes to the terribly laid-out airport queues.
“This is not a business arrangement,” she laughed
Emma came to Deirdre’s defence saying: “There was a queue of about 15 people…I think morally you were okay with your decision.” Deirdre justified the smoothie theft explaining that she wouldn’t have done it if she thought it would break them.
