We found a €15 dupe for the beloved €1,281 moisturiser

If you are a skincare fanatic like ourselves you have probably heard of the Créme De La Mer moisturising soft cream which retails for €98.95 for a 15 ml bottle and goes up to €1281.95 for 250mls.

Unless you have money to burn or skin care really is your life, no one is spending that on a moisturiser. Sorry, La Mer.

If you have been looking for a dupe, look no further, TikTok users have declared the Nivea Soft Cream a spot on dupe for the pricey moisturiser and the best part is it’s only €15!

The theory most recently came from Irish DJ, presenter and writer Annie Mac who made a TikTok telling her audience that she is convinced that Nivea is Créme De La Mer just in different packaging and scientists put this to the test and proved her right – well, almost.

While it doesn’t contain the ingredients from the sea that go through a fermentation process that makes La Mer’s products so expensive, the ingredient list is almost identical. Créme De La Mer has the same base ingredients as the Nivea cream with the main differences being the algae broth and the added botanical oils and vitamins.

The scientists also calculated the average percentage of change in hydration and the results were nearly identical.

Many have stitched Annie Mac’s TikTok explaining that they also love the Nivea Soft Cream and have been using it for years. One person commented “I have been using Crème de la Mer for a year and just bought the blue Nivea and it looks and feels almost exact. I’m going to save so much money!” with another commenting “I have eczema and this is the only cream that doesn’t irritate me!”

Nivea Soft cream contains vitamin E and Jojoba oil leaving the skin glowy with many using it as a primer before make up. Who doesn’t love a good dupe?

BRB… gone to buy the Nivea Soft Cream. Thank you, Annie Mac.
