Courtney Smith reveals what it’s been like having a newborn during the pandemic

Having a new baby is a life changing experience at any time, but having a baby during a pandemic is not something any of us are ever prepared for.

For Courtney Smith, she became a mother for the first time last year, welcoming baby Zen into a world amid lockdowns and restrictions.

In a new Instagram Q&A a follower asked her; “How did you find having a baby during Covid? Do you feel it’s hard not to let friends and family see baby?”

The stylist and influencer responded candidly, revealing that it has been hard at times. She said; “Honestly really difficult.”

“We started bubbling with my parents after he was about 8 weeks old because I thought it would be detrimental to him not knowing other people and not seeing their faces or hearing new voices developmentally.”

“Plus as a new mum I really needed the emotional and physical support. And since I’ve noticed a huge difference in him,” she added.

Courtney continued; “But in general yeah it’s not been easy, I want to spend time with my friends and introduce him to everyone obviously. Plus there’s been zero mat leave fun!”

She made the decision to keep the pregnancy totally private and only revealed the news when she gave birth last December.

Posting an adorable picture of her bundle of joy to Instagram she said; “Our little piece of calm while the world was in chaos.”

“I’ve enjoyed my pregnancy bubble privately for the last 9 months, but he is finally here.”

“Lexi’s little brother Zen arrived this week, and just like his namesake he’s the most chilled little dude and we are madly in love.”
