Aldi was announced a product recall on Mackerel fillets due to heath fears.

The Skellig Bay Mackerel Fillets are being recalled due to the detection of high levels of histamine.

While the affected batch is passed its use by date, Aldi explained that customers may have frozen this product because it is suitable for home freezing.

The affected product is a Skellig Bay brand mackerel in 300g packages, with the Product Code 68124 and a Use by date of 30/06/17.

If you’re concerned you may be affected, you can return the product to the store.

Aldi said: “Customers who have bought this product can return it to their nearest ALDI store, where a full refund will be given. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation.”
