Aisling O’Loughlin opened up about the breakup of her relationship from partner Nic MacInnes on last night’s Ray D’Arcy Show.
Last month it was revealed that the couple, who have three children together, had parted ways some time ago, after a seven year relationship
The former Xposé presenter joined Ray on last night’s show to chat about her turbulent 2016, and when questioned about her ex, Aisling revealed that they now get on better than ever, and he’s still a permanent fixture in their kids’ lives.
“He is around, we’ve come to a really nice arrangement, he’s only up the road.” she said. “We’re better like this. He’s down every day, he does the afternoon shift, he made dinner this evening. We get on great!
“He’s a bit of a rock and roller, he lives life on the edge, I suppose I knew what I was signing up for.”
Aisling also revealed that their third child, Joseph (9 months), was a “miracle baby”, as they had essentially decided their relationship was over right before he was conceived. However, when they attended Lisa Cannon’s Florence wedding together, the romance in their air proved to be too much for the couple, and they ended up having an intimate encounter – which resulted in a third pregnancy!
“Joseph was our miracle baby in more ways than one. People think he was a miracle baby because Nic had cancer, but it was also a miracle baby because we had more or less decided our relationship was over
“The wheels were coming off the wagon, but we tried it one more time and it worked!
“Lisa Cannon’s wedding did it, she had this lavish wedding in Florence, the champagne was flowing and Florence is the most beautiful city in the world
“But we’re thrilled, we adore Joseph.”
