Yvonne Connolly and Ronan Keating’s daughter Missy has been making a big name for herself in the acting world, despite being just 15 years old.
But Yvonne insists that she’s not pushing her child to become famous like her parents, and said she has no intentions of being a “showbiz mom”.
Speaking to The Herald, she said: “I haven’t got the time. It’s something that she’s very passionate about and I’ve always accommodated her and I always will, as long as she wants to do it.”
The mum-of-three added that she understands how difficult the world of acting can be and has insisted that it takes a back seat until Missy has completed her Junior Certificate exams, which she will sit in June.
“Once that’s done, she cannot wait to get back into the process of auditioning and all that so she’s dying to get back into it, It’s transition year next year so she hopes to be busy next year,” she commented.
Missy’s acting career is actually how Yvonne met her boyfriend of three years, John Conroy. He was working as a cameraman for the film Dark Touch and Missy was starring in it. Awww!
Yvonne has been busy with her own career recently, after becoming a regular on TV3’s The Seven O’Clock Show, cooking her delicious family-favourite recipes. Reports say that she may soon be becoming a permanent fixture on the show, but she remained vague when questioned about it.
“You’d have to ask them that. But I really enjoy it. It’s great, great fun.I love it. I suppose I’m just learning as I go. I’m doing some cooking and they’ve been kind enough to let me present sometimes, so it’s good fun,” she said.
