Yvonne Connolly is one proud mam as daughter Ali received her Leaving Cert results.
The 17-year-old was one of 62,000 students to received their exam results yesterday, and Yvonne was quick to praise her youngest for all her hard work which landed her “amazing” grades.
The model took to Instagram, sharing a snap of Ali, writing: “So proud of this woman who worked so hard and received got amazing results.”
Ali spoke to us at VIP Magazine about her exam, sharing how she balanced her budding equestrian career with school.
Explaining how her mum looked after and prepped the horses, including Ali’s horse Captain, while she was at school and studying, getting them ready for her to ride when she got home. She said: “We had someone to ride Captain so that he was kept busy while I was doing my exams.”
Ali also revealed she is planning to attend university in September, but it is her “plan B” as her passion is all things equestrian.
Speaking to us for our August issue she admits that she’s eager to move out of the spotlight of her family and do things “on my own”.
“I love my family and I’m so grateful for everything that I’ve been brought up with and all the amazing people I’m surrounded
by,” she tells us.
“But, the horses are something I’m going to try to do on my own. I want to make it, and I want to do it in such a way that I can say
I did it on my own.
“There’s a lot of negativity with people saying, ‘Oh, you’re only this because of so and so’, but, I want to stand on my own two feet and know that I put in the hard work and had the determination,” she explained.
