It seems working on Ireland’s longest running soap has it’s benefits, as the cast of Fair City take home a pretty decent pay packet each day.
According to the Irish Independent, actors on the show earn a whopping €460 a day, which has been the going rate for the past four years.
The newspaper also learned that it pays to be a scriptwriter, as apparently 15 people who pen the show went home with a staggering €3,495 per episode, while another nine received €1,837, which RTE have said “are rates agreed with the Irish Playwrights and Screenwriters Guild.”
As well as this, the stars of the show accumulated a taxi bill of almost €30,000 last year, a €5,000 increase from 2014 as stars make their way to and from the studios.
In total, it costs €54,883 to film one episode, and with 198 shows shot per year, the final bill adds up to €10.86m.
