“You have to go right down to come right back up” Una Healy opens up about her divorce

Saturdays star Una Healy has opened up about her split from Ben Foden, revealing that the divorce left her in a very low place.

Una announced her split from Ben two years ago, in July 2018, after it was reported that Ben was unfaithful to her.

Understandably, the split left Una in a very dark place with her two children, Aoife-Bell and Tadgh. Admitting that she was lonely while living in the UK and away from home.

Speaking on Sippin’ The Tea podcast, Una said:

“I was quite lonely over there (in the UK) with my two kids. Just not having adult company. It was just the three of us.”

Continuing on, she said that she is delighted to be back home in Ireland.

“I’m delighted to be back here in my home. I couldn’t think of anywhere better to be right now.”

Going on to speak about her past and how she uses her hurt for creative purposes in her music, she said:

“The great thing about life experience, I’ve got so much to write about.”

“But I wanna be a bit more positive and excited about my future, rather than being sad about my past,” she continued.

“You have to go right down to come right back up. And there’s only one way you can go when you’re t right rock bottom and that’s up.”

Since her split with Ben, Una has gone on to date Irish hurler David Breen for over a year, however, the two split earlier this year having realised that they both want different things.

Ben has also moved on from his divorce, marrying American woman Jackie Belanoff after a whirlwind romance. The two welcomed their daughter, Farrah in May of this year.
