These days, no app stays the same for long.
It seems like everyday we are being asked to update the likes of snapchat and messenger to get the newest features, and most of the time, we don’t even notice the changes.
Whatsapp’s new feature however, is one you’ll definitely notice.
The messaging app has taken a leaf out of Snapchat’s book and decided to hone in on location.
Like the snapmap, Whatsapp will now have a live location sharing feature.
This means that your location can be shared with your contacts in real time as you move around, even when it’s on in the background.
Users have the option of turning their location on for individual contacts and groups.
When turning on the location, users have the option of leaving it on for 15 minutes, 1 hour (default), or 8 hours, and you can leave a comment to go with it.
The feature was launched today and is expected to be rolled out to all users in the coming weeks.
While some people might find the feature useful, many others may feel that, similarly to snapmaps, it’s a little creepy if you forget to turn it off.
How do you feel about the changes?
