Fair City fans can rejoice as a one-hour-long episode of the popular soap will air on Christmas day at 8:30pm.
The festive addition is said to be filled with “unforgettable drama” and viewers will be treated to an “unmissable lineup of episodes” over the Christmas week.

We have had a sneak peek at the plot, and we are ready to share all the gritty details with all you Fair City fanatics.
To begin with, Damien Halpin will make his return home to Carrigstown after spending some time away at a psychiatric Clinic. His festive return doesn’t look like it will be as merry as he hopes as his late sister, Laura’s suspected killer, Tyler Monroe is also back in Carrigstown.
Tyler looks set to cause some unwanted drama in the Northside suburb as he “begins to plot his revenge, setting the stage for an astounding showdown that has profound repercussions for some Carrigstown residents”.
It looks like Emma Rafferty’s Christmas bash will also be thrown into chaos as the appearance of James Rafferty’s latest love interest named Daisy causes a stir amongst the other guests. Daisy will be played by none other than social media star, Kayleigh Trappe.
It appears James will also be suffering a splash of public humiliation at his mother’s party much to the amusement of Carol.
It seems love may also be in the air for Carol Foley as she bails on her girlfriends to spend time with a handsome stranger by the name of J.J.But it wouldn’t be Fair City if there wasn’t some wicked plot twist, so let’s just say that maybe J.J. isn’t all Carol thought he was.
You can guarantee we will be perched in front of our TVs on Christmas evening polishing off the remainder of the Christmas dinner leftovers and sipping on a glass of wine as we relish in the drama of our favourite Carrigstown residents.
Along with the Christmas special Fair City will also be playing on RTE on Sunday, December 22nd at 8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 23rd at 7:45pm and Friday, December 27th at 7:30pm.
