It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that açaí bowls have changed how we brunch in the last year. With their berry red colour topped with crunchy granola, sliced banana and scrumptious peanut butter, it is obvious that people have traded their avocado toast for this bright and (mostly) healthy alternative.
It is clear that the world and most importantly Ireland have taken note of people’s açaí habits and have granted their wishes with numerous cafes and restaurants around the country adding this sweet breakfast option to their menus.
With business booming let’s have a look at some places where you can feed your açaí addiction.

Making the perfect açaí bowl at home
Now that we have given ourselves an intense craving for this nutritious sweet treat, it is time to see how we can make it at home. Making açaí bowls at home is a great alternative as it can often prove quite expensive to buy this sweet brekkie a couple of times a week.
You can also be more aware of the ingredients going into your açaí bowl and tailor it to what suits you.

Ingredients
The first thing you need when recreating your favourite açaí bowl at home is obviously açaí.
Now you are obviously not going to come across fresh açaí berries in this country (they are native to Brazil) but you can purchase açaí powder online and frozen acaí from some supermarkets.
Other common ingredients include frozen bananas, frozen berries, frozen mango, coconut water, peanut butter and granola.
