The Smock Alley Theatre has a brand new show heading to its stage, and it’s set to take Dublin by storm.
69 Shades of Gay will run between May 30 – June 11, and will certainly be one to remember.
The show stars Rob Murphy, who is probably best known for his role as Buffy in the Cheerios Panto each year. Rob plays Aiden – a Dublin hottie in the search for love, romance and Mr. Right.
Aidan’s ready to move in with boyfriend number 69, Marcus, and in preparation, spends the afternoon going through his phone, getting rid of texts, dodgy snaps and phone numbers, which sends him on a trip down memory lane.
Aiden certainly has a lot of memories – 68 boyfriends worth – which he’s only too willing to share with the audience, in both a hilarious, and sometimes heartbreaking fashion.
Whether he’s divulging memories of terribly funny dates, or sharing details about the one who got away, Rob’s character is out to keep the audience entertained from the get-go.
Speaking exclusively to VIP Magazine, Rob revealed he’s super excited to get started.
He said, “Rehearsals have been going fantastically, all really good and I’m very confident. It’s a strong piece of theatre, a rollercoaster of a show.
“Its a one man show which is a complete challenge for me but all is going well at the moment.”
While the show is for the main part, hilarious, Aidan admits that while the story is the story has aspects of heartbreak, which he feels that almost everyone can relate to that.
69 Shades of Gay may be a little risqué, but it’s the perfect fun night out with friends!
