Well known faces step out for premiere of Stanley Kubrick’s Dr Strangelove

Stanley Kubrick’s jet-black comedy classic, Dr. Strangelove, had its highly anticipated premiere at Dublin’s Bord Gais Energy Theatre on Thursday evening, and it certainly lived up to expectations.

Leading the first-ever stage adaptation of the legendary filmmaker’s work is seven-time BAFTA Award winner Steve Coogan, alongside Olivier Award winner Giles Terera, who portrays General Buck Turgidson.

The story, centred on a rogue U.S. General who sets off a nuclear crisis, has been brought to life on stage by acclaimed BAFTA and Emmy Award winner Armando Iannucci and Olivier Award winner Sean Foley, in a riotously funny satire of mutually assured destruction.

Among the stars spotted on the red carpet that night were Jennifer Zamparelli, Ardal O’Hanlon, Matt Cooper, Zeinab Elguzouli, Tracey Clifford, Ebby O’Toole, Ray Foley, and Bernard O’Shea to name but a few.
