Nicky Byrne performed his Eurovision entry ‘Starlight’ in Stockholm last night ahead of the semi-final next Thursday.
The Dubliner jetted off to Stockholm this week, but there’s been no time for fun as he’s jumped straight into rehearsals.
Nicky told our sister mag, TVNow, “Exciting times, but I’m nervous as hell.
“I think the real pressure is in the semi-final. If we can qualify, I think then we can enjoy the final. The monkey’s off our back so to say. I’ll be devastated if we don’t make it through to the final.”
This wasn’t the singers first performance in The Golden Arena, Stockholm, as he took to this stage twice before with Westlife. He’s excited to return to the new and improved stage, and sing on it again.
“It was great to walk back out there – but this time with an even bigger stage, LED floor… you know if you can’t enjoy that you’re in the wrong game – it’s incredible,” he said directly after the performance.
The Eurovision Song Test Semi-Final is on next Thursday, 12th May on RTE.
