Last night’s episode of Fair City was the show’s wedding of the Year, and in true soap style there were several dramatic turns before the ceremony.
The hour long special showed couples Kerri-Ann and Decco and Carol and Robbie as they ventured up the aisle for a double wedding. However, when Carol’s father Trigger turned up uninvited the wedding transcended into a violent event.
Carol ended up coming to blows with her father just before walking up the aisle and this resulted in an enraged Robbie giving his father-in-law a beating after the ceremony.
The episode ended with the two couples sharing their first dance as husband and wife in their lavish marquee. Although Kerri-Ann and Deco are completely unaware that Carol and Robbie were late to the dance floor because Robbie had just beaten Trigger to a pulp.
Clearly a lot of thought and effort went into one of the shows most talked about episodes this year and RTÉ have just released a behind the scenes looks at the wedding. It provides an insight into the preparation that goes into props, design and continuity for an episode of this scale.
