Vogue Williams has opened up about going to therapy before she began dating Spencer Matthews. The Irish model and podcast host shared that she decided this was the right choice for her in order to work on her romantic relationships.
Speaking on Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch she said she want not long after she broke up with Brian McFadden; “I went to therapy after I had my last big break up and he was like, how are you not seeing this pattern?”
In particular Vogue said that it helped her to realise that in the past she was “wanting to help people all the time” in her relationships and “It did work. It made you think about what you’re doing and do I keep going back to the same thing.”
“No wonder it’s not working out all the time and then you meet someone else that’s completely different and you go,’oh ok,'” she added.
Vogue has opened up about her marriage to Brian McFadden in the past, revealing that she suffered badly with anxiety at the time of their split back in 2015. The former couple initially met back in 2011, they then got married eight months later in 2012 before announcing news of their marriage break up three years later.
Since then, Vogue says has been working on her mental health and that it is still “a work in progress”. Speaking to The Times newspaper last yee, Vogue opened up about the split saying; “That was probably the worst my anxiety has ever been.”
“And since then I’ve never had it as bad. Since then it’s been a work-in-progress because I started to see a therapist and I became very mindful of my training, of the way I was eating…”
“Everything shifted after I was more careful of myself. You don’t realise how fragile you can be until you’ve gone through something like that — but now I don’t get it so much because I live with Spenny.”
Announcing the news of the break up at the time, Vogue wrote on Twitter, “It is with sadness that Brian and I have made the tough decision to go our separate ways. We will always care greatly about each other, remain friends and we wish each other all the very best for the future. We have nothing else to say on the subject and we would like to thank our friends and family for their support during this difficult period. Vogue x”
Now, Vogue is happily married to reality TV star Spencer Matthews, and they are parents to two children, Gigi and Theodore with another little one on the way.
