Huge congratulations to Louise Cooney and Mark Sweeney who tied the knot during a romantic ceremony at Cashel Palace surrounded by their son Jude, extended family and friends.
Here, they share their magical day with us…
“We met online during COVID-19 when I had moved back to Ireland from New York. Our first date was in November 2020 and we sat outside a pub (which was closed due to the restrictions), ate pizza, drank wine and chatted for hours,” Louise tells us.
“I remember thinking ‘What’s the catch with this guy?’ He seemed too good to be true. But there was no catch and here we are!”
She goes on to tell us: “Finding my dress was so much fun. I had pictures but focused more on how the dress made me feel. I felt great in the one I chose. I loved the lace, I think it’s really romantic and timeless, and it was very comfortable, no corset or anything so I could hold Jude and dance the night away in it not a bother.”
She adds: “Our son Jude walked up the aisle with his granny and nana. He stole the show in his little tux! We had a little first dance with him during our drinks reception before most people had arrived, to Hey Jude by the Beatles. I sing it to him all the time and now he can recite the words himself. It’s very cute!”
Of course, she has so much to love from the best day of her life.
“When it comes to my favourite memory of the day, I’m torn between the ceremony and the speeches. There was just so much love in the room and I was like a giddy child, just so excited to be there and happy,” she admits.
Sharing a sweet moment, she tells us: “Our first dance was to, May I have This Dance? by Francis and the Lights. It’s not a very well known song but it’s one that we have loved from our early days of being together and we joked very early on that it would be our wedding song.
“Neither Mark or I are the best dancers in the world but we just relaxed and enjoyed it.”
