Viewers share delight as Fair City returns to our screens

After months off air, Fair City finally returned to our screens last night – and fans couldn’t be happier.

The RTE soap had to stop filming in March due to restrictions surrounding Covid-19, but with new guidelines in place, cast and crew could return to the set last month to make the show we all know and love.

Brigie deCourcy, Series Producer, said: “It has been our priority that these systems were in place before committing to a return date so that we could protect the health and well-being of our actors, writers, directors and crew.

“We have been eager to get back to production, but the priority was the health and safety of the whole team. Everyone is delighted that we are now in a position to get back to telling stories and bringing fun and chaos back to Carrigstown.”

As the show returned last night, viewers took to social media to share their praise and adoration for everyone involved.

Similarly, Fair City actor Ryan Andrews recently shared his utter joy following his return to set.

“I’m absolutely thrilled. It’s a bit of positivity coming back. I’m delighted to be part of it and delighted to be back with my Fair City family,” he said.

He’ll be working alongside Dancing with the Stars professional Karen Byrne, when she makes her show debut over the coming weeks.

We can’t wait to see how she gets on!
