Vicky Phelan had to make another trip to hospital this week after falling ill following her latest round of cancer treatment.
The mum-of-two is currently in the US taking part in a clinical trial in a bid to shrink her tumours and prolong her life.
However, the medication has been making her quite sick over the last few weeks and Vicky needed to return to hospital last night as she was so ill.
Similar to last time, Vicky was incredibly nauseous, had awful head pains and needed urgent medical care.
“It’s the day after treatment and I’ve landed myself back in hospital again having fluids. I woke up this morning after having treatment yesterday and I knew it was going to be one of those days,” she said.
“I feel a lot better than I did two hours ago. I thought my head was going to explode the headache was so bad. I’ve been vomiting all day.
“I knew I couldn’t do another night of that. I couldn’t even keep down water so I knew I had to come back in.”
After being put on an IV for fluids, Vicky said, “I feel a lot better but my head is still hopping. I’ve still got a bit of a temperature and they don’t know why Im getting so sick on this drug.
“It’s tough when it’s bad like this. We tried a couple of different anti-sickness medications. I don’t know what we’re going to do now, I just hope it doesn’t mean I have to come off it. I hope it’s just my body trying to adjust to this new drug.”
Since sharing this update, Vicky was allowed leave the hospital and return to the comfort of her apartment to rest and recover.
