Hozier fans sparked romance rumours between the Irish singing sensation and Oscar-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan after a snap of the pair together did the rounds online.
In typical fandom fashion, followers of the pair jumped straight to the conclusion that the pair are seeing each other romantically.
Despite the rumours of a new relationship, this isn’t the case at all. In fact, Saoirse and Hozier have been working together on his new single, “Cherry Wine”, which will aim to highlight the issue of domestic abuse.
While Hozier provides the vocals for the track, Saoirse Ronan lends her acting talents to the music video, where she portrays a woman dealing with an abusive relationship.
Speaking about taking part in the charity single, Saoirse said, “I’m honoured to join Hozier to create awareness for the #FaceUpToDomesticVoilence campaign with the release of ‘Cherry Wine’ as a charity single.
“The song has always been one of my favourite tracks on his album. I hope through the video and song we can shine light on the issue and complexity of domestic abuse and in doing so, help those caught up in the cycle of domestic violence.”
90c from each iTunes download of the song will be donated to Irish charity, Safe Ireland, when the song is officially released this Sunday.
