TV3 have responded to Suzanne Jackson’s Snapchat rant following her appearance on the Six O’Clock Show on Wednesday.
The author was horrified and heartbroken to learn that a lamb which also appeared on the show, would soon go to “the factory”.
Taking to Snapchat after her segment on the show, Suzanne said, “Guys, that was the worst television interview I’ve ever done.
“Five minutes before I went on tv they started talking about this lamb that was going to be slaughtered and I honestly just couldn’t do my interview properly.
“I was just totally thrown, I was just looking at the little lamb and I was just like ‘oh f**k, like if anything is going to upset me it’s going to be that’.”
TV3 were not impressed with Suzanne’s reaction to the segment and were very left “surprised” by her Snapchat rant shortly after the show ended.
“Is Suzanne the only person in the country who is unaware that a segment on lambing season would involve talking about what happens to the lambs? The lamb in question is alive and was sent back to the farm after the show.” a source close to the station told Evoke.ie.
“However, Suzanne never made it known that she was in any way affected or ‘upset’.
“So we were very surprised, to say the least, that she walked out to the car park to her Mercedes and sat on her leather seats and snapchatted about how ‘upset’ she was at what happens to the lamb.
“Is she that unaware of what happens during lambing season.”
However, Suzanne is not taking the criticism lying down, and she has hit back at the station, claiming the reason she was so upset was because the lamb seemed to be very distressed before appearing on air.
“When TV3 rang me to do the slot, they explained they would have a pet crew on the same evening as me, talking about dogs and their personalities. There was absolutely no mention of anything to do with lambing season.
“My reason for being upset was not solely as a result of the meat situation. Minutes before going on air, the lamb appeared to be very very frightened and in a lot of distress, and this both worried and upset me.”
