Following the announcement of Larry Gogan’s death this morning, friends, colleagues and fans have been paying tribute to the late broadcaster.

Larry first started working in RTE in the ‘60s and went on to have a brilliant career, spanning over 50 years.

Known and loved by thousands around the country, he’ll certainly be missed.

Remembering his colleague, Eoghan McDermott said, “Another legend gone. Larry Gogan. You were an absolute ray of light.

“Everyone would perk up when you came into the office. You’ve gone through life being loved by the public, your family, your friends and your colleagues.

“You made it sound easy and effortless. If any of us manage half of the career or legacy you’ve managed, we’ll be deemed a mega success.

“Thanks for your kindness and your wisdom. Rest In Peace. We’ll miss you x.”

Sharing a clip of the pair together, Doireann Garrihy said, “My crossover with the legend and golden voice of RTE 2FM was short but oh so sweet.

“What a man, what a life, what a legacy. Sleep well Larry Gogan.”

“Larry Gogan a dear friend. A wonderful man. May he rest in peace,” he said.
