Tributes have poured in for Barry Ennis, a well known Irish music promoter who passed away suddenly yesterday.
The father-of-two was a well known face on the Irish music scene and abroad and his death has come as a huge shock to everyone close to him.
A number of Irish musicians who knew him have taken to social express their sadness over his passing and share their condolences with his family.
Paul Heaton, from the band Beautiful South, described Barry as a “bold promoter and a gracious and generous host who couldn’t do enough for you, your family and friends”.
Woman’s Heart singer Eleanor McEvoy wrote on Twitter describing him as “A real gent who always had time for everyone”.
Irish band Villagers wrote on Twitter saying he was “a gentleman and a fantastic promoter of music new and old”.
Today fm DJ Phil Cawley also took to Twitter saying, “Just a few short days ago we chatted.”
