Travel chaos looms as Ryanair pilots have voted in favour of a strike this month.
The pilots are planning to take industrial action over on-going issues surrounding transfers, pay and holiday allowance.
A rep for the Irish Airline Pilots’ Association has said, “Our member pilots directly employed by Ryanair complain that there is no transparent system for the determination of important matters including voluntary/involuntary base transfer/allocation, command upgrade, allocation of annual leave and promotion.
“When a pilot receives notice of a mandatory base change, or is denied a request for a change of base, such management decisions can have a devastating effect on family life.”
The union hopes these issues can be rectified, but if not, will strike on Thursday, July 12th for 24 hours.

Meanwhile, due to staff shortages in French and German Air Traffic Control centers, thousands of flights are being delayed in and out of the country.
This morning 14 percent of Ryanair’s flights were delayed, and the airline have since tweeted: “We sincerely regret these unjustified delayed and are doing our utmost to limit their impact on flights throughout the rest of the day.
“Customers on impacted flights have been notified by SMS text and email.”
