RTE radio presenter Sean O’Rourke has revealed that he will be taking an extended break from the station this summer.
The popular broadcaster hosts Today With Sean O’Rourke, RTE Radio One’s news shows which airs Monday to Friday at 10am, but will be handing the reigns over to the capable hands of Miriam O’Callaghan this season.
“The job I do is great fun but it’s also pretty relentless,” he told The Herald.
“I asked RTE for an extended summer break so I can recharge the batteries and be ready for the autumn.
“It’s great that Miriam is doing the show – she’s brilliant.
Miriam will be taking a break from her own weekend show on RTE One to anchor the weekday slot, as well as taking some time away from her Saturday night television chat show to focus her attentions on a new documentary for the station.
