Author Joseph O’Connor will pay tribute to the brave people who protect our coastlines with his powerful poem ‘Rescue 116’ on The Late Late Show this Friday.

Also on tonight’s show, Ryan Tubridy will be joined by businessman Brian Lee, who started his entrepreneurial career before hitting his teens with a grass cutting business. He is now the co-founder and owner of Chopped, as well as fitness brand FIT Studios and is an ambassador for Focus Ireland. He’ll be chatting with Ryan about turning a simple idea into a thriving business and what his plans are for the future.

Viewers will meet Patrick Shalvey who is about to welcome hundreds of people to his Cavan dairy farm as he plays host to RTÉ’s Big Week on the Farm.

Lorna Byrne has reached millions with her international bestselling books on angels and the ways she believes they have touched her life. Her new book ‘Angels at my Fingertips’ promises to reveal more about the angel world than ever before. She joins Ryan on Friday night to discuss her experiences and how her work, translated into 30 languages, has touched a chord all around the world.

With Bus Éireann workers on strike, the Gardaí in turmoil and the Taoiseach refusing to name the date, some well known names will be discussing the state of the nation.

John Creedon will be on the couch to chat about life as one of Ireland’s most enduring broadcasters and he will be remembering the legendary Gerry Ryan, as the seventh anniversary of the late 2FM broadcaster’s death approaches.

Viewers will also meet 16-year-old singer Calum Heaslip. The son of a Tallaght man, Calum is a household name in Spain, has sung on a Disney soundtrack and his videos have racked up millions of views on YouTube. He’ll be chatting to Ryan about achieving international fame and his family in Ireland, as well as making his debut performance on Irish television.
