Being the wife of a world renowned comedian, her personal life is laid out on a daily basis, but Yvonne Tiernan has revealed she’s not phased by her husbands jokes.
The presenter admits that despite Tommy talking about their love life on stages around the globe, she takes it all in her stride because the majority of it is made up!
Speaking to The Herald, Yvonne said, “Tommy’s a comedian, he’s a performer and people are inclined to believe everything he says in a performance – as if I sit at home in bed eating lasagne.”
She continued, “I wouldn’t have married a comedian if I couldn’t take the craic of it.”
Yvonne will be having her own craic as her new show The Couch kicks off on the RTE Player this week.
In a first for the station, Yvonne’s show will be aired directly on the player and aimed specifically at women.
“I’m someone who is in some ways confident and in other ways very nervous. I think we all have these contradictions in us. For me, sitting on a couch chatting with other women is when I’m at my most comfortable. My fear was putting myself out there,” she The Sun.
Yvonne added, “I think it will really appeal to women with children who will be able to sit down in their own time with a cup of tea and watch these interviews.”
With guests including Sharon Horgan and Maia Dunphy, we’re sure Yvonne will finally be able to get her own back on Tommy!
