Tommy Bowe has revealed his sheer delight at becoming a father – despite baby Emma arriving slightly earlier than anticipated.
The rugby legend and his wife Lucy welcomed their first baby to the world last month, two weeks before her due date, and couldn’t be happier with how they’re settling in as a family.
“We were both a little shocked as she came along early, but we’re both delighted,” he exclusively told VIP Magazine. “I think we’re still on a high!
“It has been very exciting! It has been a shock to the system, but it’s brilliant. Emma is gorgeous, she’s eating and sleeping well and she’s settling in perfectly, so myself and Lucy are very happy.
He went on to say, “It’s surreal, but it’s an amazing experience, even the nine-month build-up to it, but when the baby is born it just really hits you. It has been a fun few weeks!”
Tommy revealed his wife Luce is besotted by their tot, and the two don’t spend a moment apart.
“She’s great,” he says with a smile. “She’s taking to motherhood very well. Herself and Emma are joined at the hip.”
We’re glad to hear they’re all doing so well.
