Tom Vaughan Lawlor has opened up about his experience working on the new Avengers movie in the US.
The Irish actor worked alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood for the movie, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Pratt and Tom Hiddleston.
“It was very exciting. It was a massive, massive production and on a massive scale,” he told VIP Magazine.
“What I found amazing was that regardless of the budget, everyone was still concerned about the drama in scenes. There was great integrity.
“Sometimes you think about blockbusters being smash, bang, wallop and effects, but at the heart of it, they’re all artists and there’s a reason why Marvel especially are so successful.
“They take it so seriously and seek the truth in every scene they do. It was wonderful. And getting to work with these actors was wonderful.”
He added, “There was a lovely crew. I was very fortunate with that experience.”
Tom began work on that film very soon after shooting, Maze, a movie surrounding the infamous Northern Irish prison escape in the 80’s.
Speaking about that drama, he said, “I was nervous and cautious about how it might be received because it’s still a politically charged situation in many respects and it’s still decent history.
“Any time you take on a story involving something with Northern Ireland, you have to be one, very sensitive; and two, detailed in your research and your work.
“You still need to be true to yourself though and tell the best story you can.”
