Tom Hanks insisted he would only talk to Ruth Langsford and not Eamonn Holmes after he made an incorrect movie reference live on air today.
The American actor and director Ron Howard were being interviewed on This Morning about their newly released movie, Inferno when Eamonn made a movie reference faux pas.
The Irish tv presenter told Ron Howard that he’d never liked him because he killed John Wayne, when he starred alongside him in the 1976 movie, The Shootist. However, shortly after Eamonn made the admission he was scolded and told that he was wrong!
“Ron, personally I have never liked you. You shot and killed John Wayne in his last ever film, The shootist, I hated you for that.” Eamonn said.
“I did not shoot John Wayne, I shot the bar tender who shot John Wayne. You’ve got to see that movie again.” Ron responded.
The talk show hosts broke into hysterics when the mistake was pointed out and Tom Hanks was quick to reprimand Eamonn for his inaccuracy.
“Eamonn, I am shocked that you have brought up a movie reference that is incorrect, and I’m going to have to give you a yellow card.” Tom said. “I’ll talk to Ruth, Eamonn I don’t want to hear from you. Ruth I’m only listening to you from now on.”
Ruth jokingly responded saying, “You’re the first person who’s managed to shut my husband up!”
Luckily, the dynamic presenting duo quickly redeemed themselves by showing a pre recorded message for Ron from his daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard, who was in studio with the pair last week.
