Today FM presenter Paula MacSweeney has announced the arrival of her beautiful baby girl, Pixie.
The radio star and her husband Aiden Donnelly, who are already parents to little Roddy, welcomed the new addition to their family earlier this week.
Sharing a picture of herself cradling the newborn, Paula said, “Hello, you. Roddy was right – he did get a sister! A really gorgeous baby sister.
“She was born yesterday afternoon but has been in NICU ever since – thankfully all seems to be going well. We are so happy with our 7.8lb bundle of pure joy. Welcome to our world, Pixie – we love you so, so much.”
Family, friends and colleagues were quick to share their well-wishes.
Mairead Ronan wrote, “Congratulations Paula! Enjoy those gorgeous snuggles and my advice is stay an extra night in the Rotunda…Remember, this time you’re going home to two babies.”
Sile Seoige said, “So happy for you, sending you all so much love.” While presenter Tracy Clifford added, “Ahhh massive congrats.”
Paula announced her pregnancy joy at the beginning of lockdown, and revealed she’d be taking extra precautions amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
“Obviously this isn’t the time to take any risks, so I’m going to go into cocoon mode, and continue Early Breakfast next week from my wardrobe. There’s a sentence I never thought I’d say,” she laughed.
“We are so excited to see who is going to join our little family in early October. And big bualadh bos to my right Fallopian tube – talk about stepping up!”
Paula and her long-term love Aiden wed during an intimate ceremony in New York, September 2017.
For the big day, the presenter opted for a lace gown with sleeves and a beautiful bouquet of red roses, while her partner looked dapper as ever in a navy suit.
At the time, Paula announced the news of their nuptials sharing a picture of the newlyweds gazing into each other’s eyes and wrote, “Mr and Mrs D.”
