The Tipperary hurling team brought the Liam McCarthy Cup to Temple Street Children’s Hospital this morning, following their epic win in yesterday’s All-Ireland final.
The Premier County were crowned 2019 All Ireland Champions, winning Liam for the 28th time with a 14 point win over rivals Kilkenny – and the team wasted no time in sharing their happiness!
Temple Street Children’s Hospital today shared pictures of some of their patients getting the amazing opportunity to meet and get a picture with one of the most famous cups in Irish sport.
Manager Liam Sheedy and captain Seamie Callanan led the team in meeting the delighted children, and looked as fresh as ever following their victory banquet in Dublin last night.
“Such a special morning here as the Tipp Senior Hurlers dropped by our wards with the Liam McCarthy cup!,.” the special snaps were captioned.
“Thanks so much to everyone on the team for popping in and sharing the excitement!”
RTE’S Marty Morriseey, who provided commentary on yesterday’s big game, was also on hand to cover the team’s visit – while posing for some pictures with the hospital staff.
After one of the biggest days in Tipp hurling, it’s great to see the team spread their joy with the deserving little ones!
