Chocolate company Thorntons have recalled a batch of their Dark Chocolate Easter Eggs, due to the milk used in the icing.
Milk was used in the personalised icing on each of the eggs, and it was not declared on the label. This means that the product is not suitable for vegans or for those with a milk allergy.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland announced the mass recall on their website, where it was revealed that all batches of the product have been included.

The announcement read, “Thorntons is recalling all batches of the above Easter egg product from customers. The icing contains milk which is not declared on the label.
“This may make the product unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of milk.”
Any store that stocks the Easter Egg in question is required to provide a full refund to customers who purchased it.
