Mairead Ronan has been confirmed as the first celebrity to take part in Dancing with the Stars 2019.
The presenter, who welcomed her third child to the world in August, will be swapping nappies and bottles for a bit of glitz and glam when the show returns to our screens in the new year.
Speaking of the new project, the RTE star said, “I’m very excited but I have a big ball of nerves in my stomach!
“I’ve never done anything glamorous on TV, I’m always out in fields and mucky places with wellies and runners, so now to be in heels and sparkly dresses is both brilliant and brutal.
“The only dancing I do is around the kitchen with my baby, so this is going to be a whole new experience for me! ”
It’s a year of big changes, as Jennifer Zamparelli is set to take over from Amanda Byram, hosting the show alongside Nicky Byrne.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the Dancing with the Stars team,” Jen said.
“I was lucky enough to witness the live production first hand last year when I sat in the audience supporting Bernard O’Shea and I was genuinely so impressed by the overall scale of the show.
“I can’t wait to get my glam on and start entertaining the nation on Sunday nights and who better to do it with than the fabulous Nicky Byrne.”
