Sile Seoige has shared heartfelt details of her engagement, following a romantic proposal from other half, Damien O’Farrell.
The pair, who have a 9-month-old son together, were enjoying a family trip in Galway when Damien decided to get down on one knee.
Speaking exclusively to VIP Magazine, Sile said, “It happened in my home village of Spiddal in Galway. It was full of heart and sincerity and caught me totally by surprise.
“The proposal itself is a bit of a blur as the second he produced the box, the tears began to fall. I’m a crier so there were lots of happy tears..it wasn’t pretty!”
The gorgeous bride-to-be hasn’t even started to think about her big day. Taking things one step at a time, she simply wants to enjoy this moment for now.
“I never expected a proposal so for now I will try and process what has just happened and bask in the warm and fuzziness of this magic,” she said.
“If someone told me last week that I’d be engaged this week, I wouldn’t have believed them. Life is unpredictable but this is a very special time and I intend to enjoy every second of it.”
Of course the ring itself is a massive talking point, as her sister Grainne actually designed it.
“I couldn’t imagine a more perfect ring. Apparently she’s been sussing me out for ages now, showing me designs and asking what I thought of them but I was too thick to realise that there might have been an ulterior motive,” she said with a laugh.
Doting sister and gemologist Grainne told VIP Magazine, “I wanted to give a natural, feminine feel while still being glamorous so there is beading on the leaves and a sprinkling of diamonds that catch the light.
“The ring is low profile with no sharp edges which is practical for a new mother. I always knew she loved the colour green so a green sapphire was chosen for its beauty and its spiritual chakra meaning.”
