Author Cecelia Ahern wrote the world famous love story, PS I Love You in 2007, and eight years on it’s still inspiring couples everywhere.
Just this week a Belfast man planned the sweetest proposal for his now wife-to-be, and it was all inspired by the tear jerker novel.
Stephen Kenny proposed to his girlfriend Lindsay Crane on their anniversary, through a series of adorable notes. Each note had a clue written on it, directing Belfast native Lindsay where to go next.
Speaking to Belfast Live she said, “He had given me a card on Sunday night for our first anniversary on Monday and told me not to open it until then.
“So when I opened it on Monday morning inside there were two smaller cards, like little wedding invitations and £100 for petrol and food etc, and he said I was going to be going out with my sister for the day.
“Along with each of the six clues there was a little gift, so I had to go into each place and ask for a certain person who would then give me the next clue.
“We were out from 12noon until 7pm that night, he sent us for lunch and dinner. He just put so much thought into it, it’s crazy, it was done so well,” she said.
The last note brought Lindsay to Stephen where he proposed and she said yes.
Cecelia Ahern heard about this sweet story and took to social media to express her delight at the fact that her book inspired such a lovely moment.
Taking to Twitter she wrote, “I love this story! #PSILoveYouProposal. West Belfast mum stunned by ‘PS I Love You’ inspired proposal.”
This has just given us all of the feels.
