There could be some big changes ahead for the new season of Love Island

Love Island is set to return to our screens this summer – but this season could be a little different to what we’re used to.

At the start of the year, ITV began the hunt for a bunch of brand new singletons to take part in the hit dating show, but where they’ll all be based, is still up the air.

The show is usually set in a gorgeous Spanish villa, but with lockdown restrictions still in place, the venue – and general location – could be changed.

Speaking to Metro, narrator Iain Stirling said, “Hey, let’s see what happens. Like I said, I’ve no idea, but it could be quite amusing seeing Love Island contestants embracing the beaches of Bognor Regis at some point.

“When they can’t eat their dinner because seagulls are taking it off the plate… it could mix it up.”

It’s a very exciting year for Iain, who is expecting his first child alongside fellow Love Island host Laura Whitmore.

The newlyweds shared their joyous news in December, revealing they can’t wait to welcome their little boy or girl to the world in a matter of months.

“Iain and I are expecting a baby early 2021,” she said.

“It’s been hard to keep such happy news quiet, especially the times when I’ve had to run out of live radio to get sick in a bin or my penchant for a bowl of mashed potato in the morning. I wasn’t hungover like everyone thought.

“We’d appreciate our privacy respected but just wanted to spread some love and a reminder of the beauty of life.”

We wish them continued happiness.
