We’ve been pretty busy this week, from getting the March issue ready to hit shelves to plenty of red carpets. We’ve been run off our feet.
We rubbed shoulders with Michael Flatley and Paul Mescal this week, and we still haven’t collapsed with excitement.
Here’s what the team has been loving this week.
Weekend Editor Sláine is loving… Uniqlo X Sofia Coppola
Sofia Coppola is (and presumably always will be) one of my favourite directors, so naturally, anything commemorating her work is utterly wonderful in my eyes.
But even with my bias, Uniqlo’s new collab is still perfection.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of her debut, they have brilliantly captured the coldly beautiful aesthetics of her work and brought it into the realm of fashion.
Honouring films such as Marie Antoinette, The Virgin Suicides, Lost In Translation, The Bling Ring, and Somewhere. Their collection of t-shirts features scenes and quotes from these films.
It is everything, and more a Sofia Coppola fan could want, but unfortunately, we will have to wait till the 6th of March for their release.
Digital Editor Bronwyn is loving… Drive to Survive
I am a Formula 1 girlie. I can’t wait for the new season to return in the coming weeks. Yes, I spend my Sundays watching 20 men driving around in circles for hours.
And in the run-up to the races returning I will quench my thirst with Netflix’s Drive to Survive. It’s a documentary, read reality series, about the drama that goes on behind the scenes at the track.
I didn’t think a sports documentary would be for me, but it’s more like Keeping up with the Kardashians than a dull doc. It’s so dramatic, so juicy and so silly. The whole fourth series has dropped this week and my weekend is sorted.
Staff Writer Anja is loving … The Flatshare
I am a huge fan of author Beth O’Leary so when I found out that one of her best-selling books The Flatshare was being adapted into a TV series I was beyond excited! While I may have been late to the party as it was released back in December, I had too many shows on my list that I was already watching so I made the difficult decision to wait and watch until I could give it my utmost attention.
This brings me to last weekend when I finally sat down to watch the sixth and final episode. For those who are unaware of both the book and series, the story follows Tiffy Moore as she needs to find a quick and affordable living situation and Leon Twomey who is struggling for money. Long story short, Leon decides to rent out his one-bed to Tiffy during the night to save on money, with him getting the place to himself during the day while she’s away at the office.
To make the arrangement work, however, they have agreed not to meet up, leading them to communicate via post-it notes! And while I did prefer the book, the show itself didn’t disappoint and is filled with lots of laughs, tears and just downright wholesome moments. So why not give it a watch and read it if you haven’t already?
The Flatshare is available to watch on Paramount+.
