This week’s Late Late may be short of Hollywood a-listers, but it promises to be fascinating show all the same – despite a last minute cancellation.
Top billing was supposed to go to Web Summit supremo Paddy Cosgrove, who was meant to drop in to give his inside view on the story that’s been hitting the headlines for over a month, as the famous technology event is being hosted in Dublin this week for the last time.
The show tweeted last night that he had changed his mind about his tv appearance.
“Paddy Cosgrave has changed his mind & cancelled confirmed interview for tomorrow’s #LateLate. Pity, but his absolute right. We wish him well,” they wrote.
Never mind though, because a million miles removed from the hi-tech business of the Summit, Gogglebox stars Steph and Dom swap their own couch for Ryan’s, as they drop in to talk about their rise to fame as the politely-sizzled TV watchers of the hit Channel 4 show.
Comedian Des Bishop, recently returned from New York, will also be appearing, and no doubt previewing some of his new material. Also joining Ryan is the inspirational Aine Mae O’Mahony, a former restaurateur who lost her sight at the age of 26, but refused to let her disability get her down, and has re-invented herself as a radio presenter.
We’re not ruling out a late, surprise guest appearance either, so make sure you tune in. And if they do get a Hollywood star, hopefully it won’t be just an impersonator…
The Late Late Show airs at 9.35pm on RTE1 this Friday.
