The Late Late Show forked out over €90,000 euro on star guests last year, according to a Freedom of Information request.
The request, obtained by the Irish Sun, revealed that RTE paid out a total of €91,021 for their impressive 2015 line-up.
Last year’s line-up was one of the its most impressive yet, featuring a number of A-listers including; Naomi Campbell, Russell Crowe, Richard Branson and Kim Cattrall.
Although the national broadcaster has paid thousands for certain stars to appear on the show, guests do not usually get paid to come on the programme, as they generally use it as a form of promotion for themselves.
RTE released a statement about the figures saying,“In general, RTE pays for guests to appear on The Late Late Show and The Saturday Night Show.
“However where the guest is promoting a film, album, programme or book etc, no fee is usually paid.”
These figures from The Late Late Show are in stark contrast to The Ray D’Arcy Show who spent just €3,465 on guests over 11 episodes in the same year.
