Vladimir & Anton, the Slovakian violin virtuosos, latest album – Vladimir & Anton Live – on Rubyworks is due to be released today -and it’s their most original album to date!

The unique album was recorded over three sold-out nights at the Wexford Arts Centre earlier this year and despite the brothers’ busy schedules while touring the UK as special guests of superstar diva soprano Katherine Jenkins, they have arguably produced their best album yet.

Now resident in Ireland for more than twelve years, Vladimir Jablokov has established himself as one of the brightest young stars on the Irish classical scene. The talented musician fell in love with Ireland many years ago and he holds particularly fond memories of the Wexford Arts Centre so, it was an obvious choice for the location of their live recording.

“The reason we picked that venue in the first place is because we really liked the size of it,” Valadmir told VIP.

“It’s sort of small and intimate. We have a good audience and people really appreciate our music down in Wexford.

“The reason we went for a live album is because we thought it was the best way to get the mood and energy down on the album because whenever you get in the studio it’s not the same energy as performing live.”

The album includes old Russian folk tunes and romances like “I Met You”, “Dark Eyes” and “Dark Is The Night” and also includes well-known pieces by Prokofiev, Rimsky-Korsakov and Shostakovich for a thrilling Trans-Siberian musical adventure from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok.

Although the violinists have played stages all across the world, Vladamir admits that Irish audiences are always unwaveringly welcoming and receptive.

“People were always saying you’ll get a really good reaction from Irish audiences,” he said.

“They are really warm but I have to say the Irish are very appreciative and there was never a concert in Ireland where we would say ‘this audience is bad’.”

The brothers will be performing on The Late Late Show tonight and if you’re a classical music fan you won’t want to miss these two showcase their unbelievable talent!
