Panto season is without any shadow of the doubt one of the best parts of Christmas, and while live shows aren’t going ahead at the minute due to restrictions surrounding Covid-19, cast and crew at The Helix have decided to take their production online!
They’ll be hosting a number of virtual showings of The Sword in the Stone this December, and you can tune in from the comfort of your own home, tucked up on the couch in your pjs.
Actress Amilia Keating will star as Pip, who alongside her brother Archie played by Gavin Ryan, will embark on a quest through the panto-sphere to claim the Sword of Hope and save Merryville!
Audience favourites such as Buddy and Laurel (Colin Hughes and Aidan Mannion) and Dame Lola (Chris Corroon), amongst many others, also return for this hilarious cinematic adaptation one of our favourite shows.
Amilia has been a huge fan of these productions for years, and can’t wait to be part of this new project.
“I’m absolutely buzzing. I got a call last Monday about it, and everything has happened so quickly,” she told VIP Magazine.
“Usually you go for an audition and a job starts in five months, but this is so quick. It’s go, go, go which is brilliant.
“I love Panto and I go every single year. I go to see the people who are always in it, and they’ll still be in the online version. The story is really good too.”
The Sword in the Stone will be streamed at 7pm on December 19th, 23rd, 27th, 29th, 31st and Jan 2nd with a cast Q&A taking place directly afterwards.
Tickets cost €20 per household and are available to purchase through www.thehelix.ie.
