The full list of bank holidays in Ireland 2022

Giving us a four-day Paddy’s weekend, the government confirmed the public holiday to commemorate those who worked and those who passed away over the past two years.

Tanaiste Leo Varadkar said the day will “recognise and say thank you to volunteers, the Irish people, and to all workers who helped in the fight against COVID-19.”

Following on from the new public holiday of March 18th this year, the cabinet also agreed that from 2023, a public holiday in February will occur to mark Imbolc or St Brigid’s Day.

This bank holiday will take place on the first Monday every February, unless St Bridgid’s Day falls on a Friday, then of which it will take place on the Friday.
