Irish-Italian actress Aisling Franciosi is set to be honoured at the Berlin International Film Festival.
The ceremony will recognise 10 people who have stood out in the acting world over the last number of months – with Aisling gracing the exclusive list.
Chosen by industry experts, The Fall star will join four other women and five men, as their talents are acknowledged during the festival next February.
Speaking of the Irish actress, the jury said, “Aisling forms a powerful symbiosis with her character in Jennifer Kent’s The Nightingale, thus revealing a great acting range and superb instincts, as well as profound sensitivity and intelligence in the way she interprets a scene.”
They continued, “Her physical transformation is exceptional, morphing spectacularly into Joan of Arc from a young and fragile woman, all the while masterfully and carefully controlling her performance.”
Previous celebs to receive the European Shooting Stars honour, includes Ruth Negga, Domnhall Gleeson and Alicia Vikander.
