“The best thing that has ever happened to me…” Vogue Williams on being mum to Theodore and Gigi

Vogue Williams has opened up about motherhood, revealing it’s the best thing that has ever happened to her.

The Howth native gave birth to Theodore just over two years ago, and welcomed Gigi Margaux to the world over the summer.

Enjoying a day out in the sunshine, Vogue looked happier than ever as she strolled around the park with the little ones.

“I have children. Two children. How did that happen? The best thing that has ever happened to me,” she beamed.

Over the last few weeks, Vogue has been dealing with a series of trolls, who’ve criticised her decision to go back to work as well as her left comments about her body.

After sharing a tan tutorial, people shared a number of remarks about her post partum look.

“I hate the term ‘snapping back’ it’s not something I aspire to do after having a child nor do I think it’s important,” she said.

“I’ve only recently started training again, 4 times a week for 45 minutes a session. I try to eat healthily but I have not cut calories and eat a lot more than usual as I’m breastfeeding and it’s important to keep calories up so you have a good milk supply.”

She continued, “I trained the whole way throughout my pregnancy and I think that is a factor in the way I look now. I’ve trained since I was 16, for me it’s a great thing not only for my body but for my mind too.

“At the moment I feel permanently exhausted but training gives me energy and keeps my hormones under more control.

“What should a body look like after a baby? There isn’t a set way it should look. I don’t want anyone to feel bad about their bodies and I certainly don’t want to be made feel bad about my own.”

Elsewhere, Vogue recently revealed she’s finding it incredibly tough being away from home.

While she’s been living in the UK for the last number of years, Vogue would regularly return to Irish shores to see friends and family, but hasn’t been able to do that recently due to Covid-19.

Sharing her upset, Vogue said, “Feeling like I’ll never get home to Howth. I haven’t been back since November and I know there are bigger issues, but I’m really missing Ireland.

“Lots of tears today. I miss my friends, miss my family and feeling so over all of this. I just want to go home.”

Earlier this year, Vogue and Spencer bought their dream home in Dublin, to use as a base for whenever they come to visit.

She previously owned a beautiful apartment in Howth, but needed something a little more spacious for her growing family.

“After almost a year of going back and forth, we have our dream home in Ireland,” Vogue revealed in June.

“We aren’t moving home but we have wanted a bigger space in Dublin for a long time. Now we can all fit and hopefully spend a little more time in Ireland.”
