When it comes to ringing in the new year there are so many traditions floating around from watching the ball drop in New York’s Times Square on your TV, pretending to know the lyrics to Auld Lang Syne as you sway drunkenly with everyone else after the countdown or stuffing 12 grapes into your mouth with the hopes of bringing you good luck for the upcoming year.
However, if you are looking to do something a bit different this year, you are in luck as there are plenty of events celebrating the pending new year around the country.
From the annual New Year’s Eve festival in the capital to small street parties in towns and villages across the country, you are sure to find somewhere fun to make a memorable start to 2025.
New Years Festival Dublin

If you are in Dublin for New Year, then you certainly won’t be at a loss for things to do as the three-day New Year’s festival is set to be a spectacular event for everyone. Fáilte Ireland, the organisers of the festival have announced a fantastic lineup including the likes of Cian Ducrot, Abi Couliby and many more to help ring in 2025 in the most amazing way possible.
There will be plenty of events taking place at Dublin Castle and also other venues across the city and better yet you can even bring the whole family with a countdown matinee concert and New Year’s Day concert also taking place.
The festival begins on December 30th and ends on January 1st. Tickets to the events cost €7.90 to €12.90 and are available here.
House Limerick

If you are celebrating the upcoming new year in the Treaty City, then it looks like House Limerick is the place to be. House Limerick is hosting a Las Vegas-themed NYE party with casino games, bubbles and sharing platters.
DJ Sully Bush will also be keeping the party alive with some tunes and it looks like it may be time to get your glam on as the dress code for the event is black tie. Doors open at 8 PM and tickets cost €37.
New Year’s Eve Party Boat Cork

It looks like Aye Cork will be making waves in the NYE party scene as they will be hosting a boat party on the Spirit of Doolan. With a DJ and a full bar on board, it looks set to be a fantastic night.
The strictly over 23s event will begin on the boat at 5:30 and then back to Aye in the City to enjoy the rest of your night from 8 PM.
Tickets cost €50 and cover the boat party, entry to Aye and a complimentary glass of prosecco afterward.
Disco Brunch – Hyde Bar Galway
