Síomha Ní Ruairc and Cathal Pendred have been forced to cancel their upcoming engagement party due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
The party which was due to go ahead yesterday evening but the pair called it off due to the new recommendations from the government regarding social gatherings.
The pair decided “ it would be irresponsible and selfish of us to put others at risk” so instead they celebrated at home together.
Posting to Instagram, he urged people to “Be responsible. Be careful. Be kind.”
The happy couple became engaged on the 29th of February, when Síomha decided to stick to the Leap Year tradition and pop the question to her beau at the stunning Ashford Castle.
Taking to Instagram, the Irish actor, who has starred in films such as Baywatch and Cardboard Gangsters, revealed the happy news.
“If there was ever a woman to adhere to an old Irish tradition, it’s this one,” he captioned his post.
“On the Leap Year day, 29th of Feb, she popped the question and brought me to the most incredible place in Ireland to celebrate.”
Meanwhile, Siomha took to her own social media to reveal that proposing was the “scariest thing I have done in my whole life, but it was so so worth it.”
“I couldn’t be happier,” the presenter beamed.
