Terrie McEvoy is well known for running two businesses, Mantra Official and Bahama Body, and now she’s opening up about the realities of running her enterprises while being a mother.
During a Q and A on her Instagram, a follower asked if she worried about missing her daughter’s milestones while working. Terrie responded, confessing that working from home allows her to balance motherhood with running businesses very well.
Saying: “I’m lucky enough to be able to work while she’s with me. I very rarely need to leave her with family so I can work . I’m very grateful that I get to spend all of my time with her and still work so much!”
But the mam of one also confessed that there are still challenges along the way.
Explaining: “It can get a little overwhelming sometimes especially when there’s deadlines and sometimes I feel like I’m drowning (this week was one of those weeks where I felt I needed a clone but I wouldn’t have it any other way ! I love the madness and pace.”
Terrie also called out the double standard working mams tend to face, highlighting how men are rarely shamed for having children and a career.
Sharing: “If you’re job means you’ve to leave your little one during the day that doesn’t mean you’re not doing an amazing job! Please don’t feel guilty for wanting to keep your career or provide a really nice life for your little one!”
“You deserve to keep your identity and work at something you love and make you’re own money ! Women are often made feel guilty for working when they have children and it drives me bananas! I don’t think Dads are made feel that way … You do you , listen to your heart and at the end of the day just do what’s best for you and your little family ! Xx”
Terrie and her husband David, welcomed their daughter last November.
Sharing some beautiful snaps of the moment she was born Terrie said; “The beginning of the rest of our lives. Our hearts are ready to burst with love and gratitude.”
“Welcome to the world baby girl.”
At the time they also revealed the name they had chosen for their little girl, as well as the meaning behind it.
The couple have called their child Sydney Tina Fitzpatrick, which is a nod to the time they spent in Sydney, Australia together.
David’s mother, Tina sadly passed away back in 2018 so their newborn’s middle name pays tribute to her.
