Dressing with a bump can prove difficult for many women. You’re a completely different shape and size to what you know and are used to, and with a growing baby inside you, you’re only set to change even more.
But just because you are an expecting mum, it doesn’t mean you have to hang up your style hat. Dressing in a way that makes you feel good about yourself while also staying comfortable is a tricky line to walk, but it can be done.

Taking tips from mum-to-be Tara Anderson, Tara says that stretchy dresses are her go-to when it comes to maternity dressing, while also investing in a good pair of maternity jeans is advisable.
“Comfort is always key for me when it comes to maternity style. When I was pregnant with Gene I wore a lot of comfy dresses. I can’t cope with anything tight on my waist when I’m pregnant. I always recommend investing in a nice pair of maternity jeans, I found over the bump jeans most comfortable and had a pair from H&M and Penneys that I loved.”

Adding that oversized t-shirts are your best friend while pregnant. Tara also said that buying normal clothes in a bigger size is something she likes to do when she can’t find anything in the maternity section.
“I would say I lived in maternity leggings and oversized T-shirts last time too. I think a lot of maternity wear can be a bit boring and old fashioned, I always recommend going up a size or two in a really nice stretchy dress or top from the regular collections.”
